Certifications are a great way for organisations to attest that the relevant areas such as cyber security and data protection have been given the required attention and have achieved the required standard.

Below are the certifications that we're accredited to provide.

Cyber Essentials

Cyber Essentials is a scheme created by the UK government's National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) to provide guidance on mitigating the most common cyber threats. It is available as an annual certification at two levels: Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus.

Cyber Essentials is a good entry-level certification for cyber security which provides valuable advice for an IT system's cyber security

As Astrix are a Certification Body (CB) via the IASME Consortium, the certification process involves the applicant completing a self-assessment questionnaire of around 60 questions (these can be previewed here) and us marking the answers, and, if required, us recommending solutions.

Cyber Essentials (PLUS) Badge (High Res).png

Cyber Essentials Plus

Cyber Essentials Plus is a good entry-level certification which provides valuable insight into an IT system's cyber security and ensures that the primary weaknesses are resolved.

As Astrix are a Certification Body (CB) via the IASME Consortium, the certification process involves us verifying the self-assessment questionnaire's answers off-site and on-site using vulnerability scans and malware protection tests (the testing methodology can be previewed here) and, if required, us recommending solutions.

IASME Governance

IASME Governance is an information assurance standard developed by the IASME Consortium to allow small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in a supply chain to attest their level of cyber security. It is available as an annual certification at two levels: IASME Governance and Audited IASME Governance (also known as IASME Gold). All levels always include Cyber Essentials and can also include GDPR Readiness.

IASME Governance is good for ensuring that thorough attention is given to an organisations policies and procedures regarding cyber security and data protection and is viewed as a good, cost-effective alternative to the international standard ISO27001.

The certification process involves the applicant completing a self-assessment questionnaire of around 170 questions (these can be previewed here) and us marking the answers , and, if required, us recommending solutions.

Audited IASME Governance 

The Audited IASME Governance (also known as IASME Gold) certification process involves us verifying the self-assessment questionnaire's answers on-site and, if required, us recommending solutions.
